It likes backing away-then quickly striking from a distance. They predominantly fight will airborne and will conjure winds and tornados to throw Bayonetta off balance. The white one (Cirrostratus) prefers is much floatier than its stormy counterpart. It’s also fairly low to the floor, you can avoid it entirely by jumping over it in time too. If you see it coming, you can dodge it to trigger Witch Time. The barrier is followed by a shockwave that spans the entire field. Back away when it creates a barrier around itself. It uses lighting attacks, and can even produce an electric grid that lingers on the surface. The dark one (Cirrocumulus) prefers to keep low to the floor. It might be difficult to tell what part, you’re supposed to hit, but if you lock onto it, you’ll notice that the target is the body itself, not the giant mouth (hand?).Įach being has its own fighting style and these actually reflect the types of real-world clouds they're based on. Each scale can only hold one being, so they’ll alternate positions throughout the course of the battle. It is composed of two beings-Cirrostratus and Cirrocumulus. The boss will only jump in after you defeat the initial group of enemies. Defeat it to complete the verse and unlock the path ahead. Once they’re gone the big sandworm Viola fought in Chapter 7 - Burning Sands will appear. During the first part, you’ll need to defeat the two shooting enemies introduced earlier in this chapter. This verse triggers as soon as you try to exit the massive arena. Upon entering the massive arena, you can find a Figure Box on the right slightly obscured by some columns. Completing this verse the first time earns you a Witch Heart fragment. Of course, you can also fight them regularly as well. Use Y to help stun the biggest enemy, and it may take a few tries to pick them up completely. There are actually no rules as to how you must defeat them, but the intended way-and most effective way-is to use Malphas to pick them up and throw them off the platforms. For this challenge, you’ll need to defeat four enemies. Upon exiting the Room of Weights, you can find the portal to Verse 8 in the corner of the next room. It’ll dart around the scales to avoid you. The cat can be found in the back right corner of the room. The windmill room contains a couple of collectibles. You need to do this quickly so that all the windmills are spinning at the same time. Position them next to a windmill and press Y to use Gale. When you reach the windmill room, activate the moon spot and summon Malphas. They won’t be bothered by the Volutus’s fire and can use their web to slow them down as well. Using Phanny against it is very effective. Now it’s time for Bayonetta, which has the advantage of multiple summons and awesome weapons. You’ll fight a Volutus which is the same enemy that you defeated with Viola at the end of Chapter 5 - Hot Pursuit. This verse starts as you head across the room filled with columns. Activate it to trigger a speed challenge that rewards you with a Witch Heart fragment upon completion. There’s a small room on the right containing a relic. You can dodge to cause her to drop slightly. When you jump onto the center Bayonetta will float up. The next room replaced its floor with wind. When you turn the corner, you’ll find a Figure Box on the cliff ledge next to the staircase. When you return to the tower, use the broken set of stairs on the left side of the tower to climb up. Completing this challenge the first time earns you a Witch Heart fragment. Using Phanny is a great option as the lava doesn’t bother them. You’re free to use any summons and any accessories. However, it’s less rain and more balls of lava fall every once in a while. The only real gimmick is that you’re limited to the yo-yo and the Deadend Express… and there’s lava rain. To complete this challenge you need to rack up combo points. The entrance to Verse 3 is on the tower's balcony. Open the chest to gain some healing items then head out to the balcony and turn left. Clever use of Witch Time and summons will still defeat them without too much trouble.Īfter completing Verse 2, head up the stairs. Fighting this can also be disorienting at times because it just looks like a bunch of discs. The first set of enemies looks like blurry jagged lines, which could be a little disorienting. This verse is the first time you encounter infernal enemies in the main story.
